CH Wolf River's Sand
NOW we
come to a secret ingredient to Hawkwind pedigrees. Terra kids. The product of great fronts and rears
and some of the best sidegait. These are the real gems. Heads, while
pleasing enough, were enhanced by the beauty of Raven. Hence, take
a Terra daughter to a Raven son,
Eagle.
We've doubled on this recipe and this combination essentially drew me to Ridge in the first
place. CH Wolf River's Raptor Ridge is a double up of CH Wolf River's Star. I knew that was where tremendous
front power was evident.
Aside: notice how the decisions are made using the pedigree, and not the
dogs, at first. Look at how a PEDIGREE produces. It's still important to cross
fault the parents, and the grandparents to make sure all the components of
rears, head type, front, sidegait, leg length, etc., is all there. But the
PEDIGREE is what produces. Anyone who understands this knows better than to
breed to the stud du jour unless his pedigree is truly a fit for the girl.
Hawkwind linebred on Sand as well. Lovely girl. Saw a film of her
and Terra. Terra DID out move her, but not by much!! The linebreeding on Sand
produced some LOVELY ladies who will light up the rings and be jewels in some
special breeding programs of the future. (These are Jade children; Alaska,
Sierra, Shiya, and a little lady named H's Arctic Peridot.)
Remember that Terra children are extremely rare. One breeding was to Falcon; Kite
went to Judi Elford in Canada, and Dakotah (now deceased) went to Gayle in
Alaska. Kotah was only bred to Diamond Dust. Kite was bred to several dogs, but
never to a full WR pedigree again.
Terra was also bred to Drumlin. Tish, Spirit, there are a few around in
pedigrees. Chelestina has a Spirit daughter out of Diamond Dust. (That bred to
Saratoga's Speed of Light produced Candice's Laser.)
Terra's brother, Thunder, is Amethyst's grandsire. There is only so much
linebreeding one can do on Terra. There were precious few kids.
Look at the body style and shape on Sand, along with the other info, and then take
a look at Jade, where you can see how it all comes
together. At least in that generation....
