Electra is the product of a pedigree breeding. Many people breed 'dog to dog' and think in simple terms of 'good fronts' and 'good rears.' Dogs are what they are in their genes MORE than what you see. Looking at littemates gives you a look into what the 'gene pool' contains. But there are deeper ways to look into the pedigree; particularly a linebred pedigree. In Electra's case I took a strong part of the dam's pedigree (Onyx) and found a male (Rimrock) whose dam was another impressive Samoyed from Onyx's sire's dam. The bitch we linebred on so strongly here was Ch Wolf River's Sand ROMC; a Terra daughter. Our pedigrees are starting to be a very strong distillation of those genes. Electra is only 15 generations out of the original imports.
Electra is from the "O" litter. Each littermate has a stone beginning with "O" in the name for the dam, Onyx. (Obsidian, Opal, Onyx)
There were many lovely puppies in this litter of 8, and deciding on who to keep was really hard! We almost sold this girl, but in the end we kept her on a co own for our own pleasure.
Stunning reach, great front and rear, lovely sidegait...this girl has it all. Add goodies like a perfect earset...we have high hopes for this girl's ability to contribute to our breeding program.
First and foremost is the beautiful genetics she represents, wrapped in a tightly linebred pedigree. Secondly is the exact temperament we breed for... although she is still growing up! Gentle with children, gets along with everyone and even charms 'non dog' people.
First times in the ring....well....I think her feet touched the ground a couple times here and there! Leaping lizards! She was named after a black Harley Davidson Electraglide, so this is her logo and she does live up to it!
While we wait for her to settle down into adulthood, we enjoy her antics and
phenomenal structure! Here she is playing with her cousins in Oregon at Pacific

This bloodline takes a while to mature, and we expect Electra to shine in 2007.
And on to 2017! These pictures were as a yearling in early 2006. She is 15
months old here. Like her mom, a fine wine takes time to mature.
It doesn't hurt to have a pedigree full of 'who's who' of Samoyedom!
She exceeds her mother (below) for sidegait and structure. But isn't that what a
breeding program is supposed to do?
For now she is enjoying being a yearling girl, letting the boys chase her, and
doing everything 100%!
At SCA 2006 Electra gained her HCT title in herding.
But Electra loves to lead the boys on a merry chase!
