Aster is the combination of our breeding program now coming down from all Hawkwind combinations. The two pivotal breedings that produced Madonna and Indigo, and the one that produced the all Wolf River pedigree combination of Amethyst and Ridge, are welded into this litter.

We called this one the 'white' litter. Aster's sire is CH Alabaster Carrara, and dam's call name is Madonna (BISS CH Hawkwind's Like A Virgin). So this gal's official name is Hawkwind's  Alabaster Madonna.

Aster's littermate, CH Hawkwind's Mont Blanc has made his own splashes in the show world. These two placed in every class in which they were shown in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Aster has only been shown a bit. She picked up a few points easily as a baby. At her first national in 2005 she was only shown in sweeps, where she got a 4th and her regular class where she got a 2nd.

I don't particularly like the win pictures of Aster. She is more beautiful the closer you get to her. Somehow they never manage to capture who and what she is about.

As a baby she was the only girl in her litter, so always knew she was special.  

Sweet and cuddly, but with her grandmother's sense of herself and how her life should be....Aster has just a bit of royalty to her. Life should always be 'just a little bit better' in her world. Her owner and I laugh regularly on her tendency to be a 'mink stole.' Either on a couch or in a bed she drapes herself over your shoulders...maybe to keep her head on the pillow?

Even as a little tike she maintained her distance from the 'minions.' Here she is trucking away from the boys. I tried to take a shot of all of them and EVERY time she took off!

Pure white with a lovely coat and head, she is for us a blend of the best of the breedings of our past. Aster is a beauty from every angle.

New Year's Eve Day, 2004.

Aster's first puppies came on November 20, 2006.  She was bred to a pure Wolf River pedigree. (See below.) Aster will be bred again in 2008. She enjoys her half brother and grandmother's company and is learning the basics of the show ring. And doing her best to make sure she is waited upon hand and foot, which, to her, is only her DUE.

Only occasionally is she upstaged....by her grandmother who  wrote the book on being the queen!
