Onyx daughter, Shayna, has a new friend!

Someone decided to back out on a pet girl because we do not allow juvenile spaying. We feel the puppy should be older before they are spayed.  So we'll be looking for a good home for a 12 week old baby girl. Taking applications now.

Not much for shows this weekend as most of us enjoy the holiday....but there was a show in Sedalia and Brando was WD Friday, WD Saturday, and on Sunday he got his first Best of Breed over a special! Good job! Brando is Cuvee's Marlon Barolo Brando, a Summit son, and owned by Ken Scribner. Looks like the boys are out having fun!

In Cambridge Garnet (Hawkwind's Silver Star Garnet) picks up another single point in Cambridge....totally naked! We're just doing a bit of training with her as she still thinks she's running on a ski jour team and loves to 'just go for it.' Well, guess what? No one else can keep up without skis!

In Longmont, Colorado Sapphire wins Winner's Bitch / Best of Winners for a 4 point major! Linda said Sapphire is 'getting it' now .... Hawkwind's Sapphire Onyx is sired by Ch Wolf River's Rimrock out of Ch Hawkwind's Palomino Onyx.

Sapphire was WB today. Topaz was Best of Breed in Laramie and a Group 3 under Canadian judges ably handled by Linda Kitzman...good job!

We placed this puppy as a pet today as we never found the right show home and none of the reservation homes asked for him.

At the puppy match in the evening Morgan took Best of Breed in a field of 10 puppies, and on to a group 2. Morgan is out of Electra and Cobalt, an up and coming StarSam.

TODAY it is not even zero, so we go in and out and in and out in the cold. The kids think it's great....I think tracking them and getting them to come IN before I think their little feet are going to freeze does not jive with how long THEY think they should be out running with the 'big' girls. Lots of work! We're 'in' now and having little puppy wars in front of the TV. I tried to explain to a puppy about the Green Bay Packers and how we had to support them this time, and got a dozen licks on my nose. Does that mean Wisconsin is OK or not?

 This is the time we'd usually have a 'puppy day.' NOT in this weather!

OFA return on Summit's brother, Hawkwind's Snow Druid, is another OFA Excellent. That makes 11 of 23 Hawkwind samoyeds OFA'd are Excellent! (11 more are OFA Good) Never having produced a bad hip or dysplasia, we aim to keep that record. Our first litter to our own boy, CH Mystical's Tulku of Hawkwind revealed relatives with health issues, so we decided to delete those lines. Since that time every single litter we have bred has at least ONE OFA EXCELLENT! Amethyst's all champion litter is 2 OFA Goods & 2 OFA Excellents, and Onyx's litter to Rimrock so far has 3 OFA Goods & 3 OFA Excellents! Never a juvenile cataract, PRA, glaucoma, heart problem, diabetes, etc. Is this important? To us it is more important than many show wins. Genetic strength and temperament are foremost in our breeding program....oh, and we do love sweet and beautiful dogs!

Congrats to Copper's owners, Lisa and Jon Oakman! Hawkwind's Emerald High Peak won a big 4 point major under Malamute judge Wendy Wilhauck in Florida! Way to go, girl! I heard rumors she is out of coat, and once during the circuit came back to the judge, jumped several feet straight up into the air, and landed a perfect 4 square! Everyone laughed! Rumors are she's been kissing everyone in sight! (Yes, I have spies in Florida!)
