The process to get a Samoyed from us is...
1) Sending in an application...go here.
2) Then email it to us at hawkwindsams@cs.com, or ask us for a copy of the questionnaire if you have trouble getting the application off the website.
3) Then call us. Yes, we're busy with the dogs (that is what all of this is about!), but it's the people who call who get in on the final decisions! 10/10pm CST 952 367 6496.
If you know you sent in an application and we didn't have anything then...call us now if you are still interested....we might not get back that far before the babies are committed to new homes!

7 Things You Didn’t Know
About Puppy Mills
1) There is no
such thing as a "puppy mill". "Puppy mill" is not a legally defined term, it
is slang used by the animal
rights community to denigrate any and all breeders -- small or large,
standard or substandard. It's the "N-word" of breeders. The phrase “puppy
mill” has been promoted in the media by the animal “rights” movement, people
who want to end all animal ownership. It is applied indiscriminately by
these fanatics to anyone who
breeds dogs.
2) There are
three types of breeders: Commercial (aka USDA breeders); Pet (aka backyard
breeder); and Hobby (aka show breeders). Every one of these can be a
large-scale breeder, every one of these can be a substandard breeder.
Commercial kennels are subject to state and/or federal oversight.
Substandard care can be found with all types of breeders. It is about the
standard of care, NOT the numbers.
3) Most
commercial breeders have state of the art kennels that meet USDA standards
and the standards of their state laws. They are inspected at least yearly
and must meet or exceed standards far higher than those expected of the
average hobby breeder.
4)“Sick” puppies
do not sell. It is counterproductive for any industry to produce a defective
product and expect to stay in business.
5) Passing laws
to outlaw “puppy mills” will not solve the problem. Most substandard
breeders are already in violation of existing laws. New, stricter laws will
only affect those who are already working to follow the laws. The only way
to have any affect is to enforce the laws that are already on the books.
6) All the hobby
breeders in this country cannot produce enough puppies to meet the demands
of the American market.
7) Neither
commercial breeders nor hobby breeders are responsible for the presence of
mixed breed dogs in shelters.

Here is a gorgeous picture of Kaya, a daughter from the Ruby litter.
And her new kennel mate, Kona on her new bed! Kona is in
season so has her panties on.
Kona is better known as Hawkwind's Devil Wears Diamonds and received a ribbon
every time she went into the ring at the national! We think she is pretty
special!
Kona was 3rd in her futurity 6-9 class, 3rd in sweeps, and 4th in her 6-9 regular class at the SCA National in Utah! She lives in Southern California! Her other name is Hawkwind's Devil Wears Diamonds.

Story from a Hawkwind sammie owner:
One of my puppy owners had 10 sammies, mostly around 70 lbs. Someone broke into his home when he wasn't home. THe dogs made the burglar sit down in the arm chair in the living room. Owner comes home....calmly calls the police and says there is an intruder corralled in his living room. 'Take your time...everything is under control.'
So the police come, and the owner introduces them to all the dogs, then sends them into the bedroom and the police cuffed the intruder. True story about our wonderful breed....owner says sammies are not aggressive, but MIGHTY protective! But they look SO friendly! lol!
